Types of Macular degeneration

Coming to the treatments, the dry form cannot be cured permanently but the progression of the disease can be slowed down by the use of various types of vitamin supplements. The wet macular degeneration can be cured by some of the therapies such as photodynamic therapy and transpupillary thermo therapy. The photodynamic therapy involves the injection of a special dye that bind to the abnormal blood vessels. The thermo therapy uses a special delivery system of infra red laser which heats up the abnormal blood vessels and causes its closure.
